His wife and young daughter helped him make shoes for children on their kitchen table.His brother left the business to Dassler due to the difference of opinion between them.Dassler founded a company named after him in 1961 and decided in 1979 to rename it with three stripes logo (it’s still called adidas). He eventually sold his shares to his son Adolf Jr. but continued as an honorary chairman of its board until 1998 when he retired as chairman and honorary chairman of both companies he had been leading
